Assistive Technology/Durable Medical Equipment

Assistive technology is technology used by individuals with disabilities in order to perform functions that might otherwise be difficult or impossible, and can include: communication devices, applications on mobile devices, computer software that assists people with disabilities in having equal access to public life, etc.

Durable medical equipment is described as any medical equipment used to aid in obtaining a better quality of life, such as wheelchairs, walkers, hospital beds, and crutches. It is a benefit included in most health care coverage and other insurance plans.
